Greetings. Nice place you have here.

I am planning a bathroom remodel and need help with a light switch. I want to add an LED light bar under the bathroom vanity to act as a nightlight for the kids. To make it even more effective, I would love to have it on a low light sensor so that it will automatically turn on whenever the room is dark. Is there a wall switch I can use or possibly some low voltage add on? Any advice will be appreciated.

Bonus question. What is the minimum code height a switch and outlet have to be above a vanity?

I have just opted to use plugin power failure night lights. They come on as a night light when the room is dark. They will light up if there is a power failure. That's a real nice feature in a windowless bathroom, which can be real dark in the daytime if the door is closed.

You can pull any of them out of the receptacle to use as a portable light. Some models have a secondary brighter flashlight head on them.
