I think my beam sensor isn't working. I tried adjusting it but no luck. Is there a way to check the sending unit to see if it's working? Should there be 12v (not sure on voltage) at the sending unit all the time?

Not sure on the voltage to the eyes. What kind of opener is it? Most sensors have an led light built in the will remain illuminated as long as power is coming to it. Check the wire connections at each end. Pretty easy to knock something loose if you have kids around. Did this happen all of a sudden?

The electric eye sensors have leds on them. If there lined up properly they will be green.
Are they lit up?

Thanks to everyone that got back to me on the opener sensors. I figured it out I hope. I had power to the receiver side and not to the signal side.
