Hi
I need to stick a pool stick holder against my unfinished basement wall.

Will liquid nails work..?

If not can I just get those tapcon screws from HD and screw them into my smooth concrete wall?

To screw a inch, can I use a regular drill...? What drill bit to use?

I'm afraid I might get cracks from those holes in future...pls advice.

Thanks

Tap-Cons would be best, going to need a hammer drill if you do not want to spend all day making those few holes.
A bit comes in the box of screws.
And no, it's not going to crack the wall.
I find the 1/4 screws hold the best, deeper threads.

I agree with Senior Citizen---Adhesive---PL Premium will also work well----
I would glue a board to the wall--then screw the brackets to the board--the Q rack might not have enough glue area===and would need to be broken off the wall to remove it.

NP1 is the best at about $5.50-$6/tube....I have seen NP1 in Ace Hardware, Fastenal, and Richard's Supply, but I've never seen it in Lowes or Home Depot.
How strong is the bond...If I stick a plywood board to concrete wall. Then hang game stuff like dart board, pool accessories holders etc(not heavy)?

PL premium is available at Menards and Home Depot--

Np1 or PL premium will be stronger than the wood---to remove the board, you will need a hammer and chisel.

Thanks I'll buy whichever is available locally...NP1 or PL premium.what's better?

This is the plywood piece about 1.5x6 feet.seems like 3/4"thick.
So I guess I'll use less than an inch long screws to hang whatever I want.

Do I smear the edges randomly...How much to apply?
Do I brush the wall just to remove dust.

Importantly how to hold the board midway against wall until cured?

Thx

The usual way is to use the 'dot and dab' method--on the back of the board---

add thick blobs of glue---far enough from the edge that the excess won't squish out to the edge---one blob in each corner---then additional blobs about 10" apart--

Press firmly against wall---prop something heavy against it to hold it from slipping until the glue sets up.
