This pipe (red arrow) goes into the septic tank. The elbow and vertical pipe was left as a marker and is meant to be removed.

The pipe going into tank is loose. I'm wondering how do I attach this? There is no obvious place to glue it to.

You need an adapter or heavy duty rubber seal, available at any big box store.

Can't really tell by pic, just a guess, but the tank looks like it has a 5 inch hole and the pvc pipe you are using looks like 4in.

When I looked closer today, I saw that there is already a rubber seal there. But I don't know why it's not tight, or how to tighten it.

I read online that I'm supposed to tighten the seal with a clamp. Where should I be looking for a clamp?

Here is a clear picture of the septic inlet. You can see the rubber seal. I don't see any clamp or screw or anything to tighten it. Do I need to buy another part? I emailed the septic installer so he should get back to me relatively soon.

I agree with you farmerjohn, wait till the septic installer gets back to you. He should have all the necessary fittings you need to make the proper connection or he will tell you what you need and you can pick them up at any big store.
