Hello forum,

Have been trying to figure out the best option on redoing my walkway. The "Original" was Concrete. Ages ago, parents decided on Asphalt. I remember walking out there barefoot... Hot as H*ll.

So, the walkway is Asphalt on top of Concrete.

My question is this: Can I cut away the Asphalt and hopefully just resurface the Cement? OR Is it easier just to rip it all up and replace?

Any feedback welcomed.

Thank You

Ayuh,...... Generally speakin', rippin' it out, 'n startin' new is the easiest way to go,......

You could try peelin' the blacktop off, 'n see what ya got to work with,.....

Thanks for the reply. I guess my question evolved out of Not Knowing how Asphalt adheres to Cement. Did find some videos of Circular Saws w/ Diamond cut Blades and kind of went Hmmm.

I have time to think about it.

Once again thanks

Ayuh,...... With 27 years in the blacktop biz, I can't answer that question,......

Most times, I can peel the b/t up with just a square point long handle shovel,.....
Other times, it won't peel up, with a pickax,......
