Have many older trees around my property... And as such the concrete driveway heaved... Slabs are cracked and for the most part diminished! Looking at getting a new driveway... With the network of root systems underneath is asphalt a plausible consideration? Figured it has some give to it and can be easily resurfaced... Live in southern Ontario Canada.

You would have to fix your problem first (the roots) not just put a band aid on it. You will have the same problem down the road if you don’t correct your problem.

Not looking at getting rid of the roots... They are old character trees... Willows, elms, and such...the roots by no means protrude the ground... But I'm sure with summer and winter... Hot/ cold/ wet/ dry... They have caused some of the heave...

Make sure you fix the oil leak on your car/truck, or you'll quickly have an ugly soft spot.
