I need to remove the shower walls that are detoriating from moisture and not sure if I have asbetos in the insulation? Anyone out there know about older model mobile homes and asbestos in the insulatiuon?

Going to have to open it up to find out.
All the mobil homes I've worked and lived in just used a very thin layer of fiberglass.
Thanks so much for your reply! I met a guy at Lowe's who works on mobile homes and he did not think asbestos whould be a concern and your response makes me feel allot better. I read other threads on removal of asbestos and will take precautions.
I would be more concerned with wood rot and out of date wiring on a trailer that old.

Not very likely in wall insulation. Very likely in flooring, adhesives, caulking or acoustical celings of that era.

Thank you all for your reply. Yea I had to laugh to myself when I entered the date on the trailer, actually it's still in excellent condition with previous owners keeping it in tip-top shape. I had an electrician check on the wiring but now I will get to take a peek on what interior walls look like.
