I'm installing flooring in my bedrooms room by room.
The first room I recycled the existing flooring and determined it was too much work to prep it. I ended up giving the rest away on craigslist.
The second room, I used new wood from Weaber Lumber. The only issue that I had was that I needed to square up quite a few pieces. A little extra work but not terrible and the finished install was tight so I decided to continue using that mill; the devil you know.
The 3rd and biggest bedroom, I bot more from the same mill but this time I'm going to end up literally burning about 4 bundles out of 14.
Here's what I'm seeing that I think is crappy millwork. Not all pieces are like this but large amount; it looks like a lateral snipe.
As a DIYer, I don't install a lot of flooring. If I didn't bust open all the bundles looking for good pieces, I would return it. I've been using a lot of this as end pieces but I don't need that many. Am I being too critical with my expectations?

I'm just venting. I think it's too late to take them back, most of the floor is down and I bought it maybe two months ago. I'm trying a different mill now that I picked up earlier this week. The lateral snipe is not there but squareness is still an issue which I don't understand. It seems like the mill doesn't calibrate their machines nearly enough or they just don't care. it's just a whisker off but now I'm paying really close attention and checking each piece with a speed-square.
I think I'm being hyper-critical because I don't have the experience in laying floors and with that lack of experience, my expectations are too high for what I think are simple tasks like squareness.
