Are the GAF timberline shingles at Home Depo the real deal or are they seconds or something? They are way cheaper then buying them from a roofing shop

They're the same. They sell them at a lower margin to get you in there buying other stuff that's more expensive. They're a few dollars a sq cheaper here, but I get free delivery from the roofing store. HD charges, so it's pretty much a wash.

I don't get free delivery, but I happily pay the premium since I am a professional roofer and home depot competes against me to install roofs.

Agree with you 100% Grumpy,,,,,GAF,Owens Corning or whatever the ONLY time I purchase materials from the chain stores is IF a storm has hit our area and my supplier (Who charges ZERO within 100 miles,,,SAME DAY)for some reason cannot get me shingles for an emergency reroof.

IMHO why supply and keep afloat the competition ?,Actually I would much rather lose a contract to a 100% contractor than the chain gangs.
