our bed room lights went out and we checked the arc fault breaker and it wont stay on. We open up all the electrical outlets there was no evidence of arching and I am lost of what is going on.

What precipitated this condition? Did you change any fixtures? Plug something new/different into an outlet? Hang a picture? Run a window AC unit?

Unplug ABSOLUTELY everything and see what happens.

If you feel comfortable in the breaker box and you have a voltage tester you can swap the AFCI (arc fault) breaker for a regular one and see what happens.

You need to check all Junction Boxes, switches, and outlets.

Arc Fault breakers respond to arcing and overloads but they won't tell you which condition caused the breaker to trip. You need to identify every receptacle, light fixture, and switch that is on this circuit and then start eliminating.
