I have a rent house that I totally re-wired a year and a half ago. Last week the renter told me that arch fault breaker was tripping in the kitchen and wouldn't stay set. Time's verying on how long between trips from minutes to hour's. If I put frig on extension cord to another breaker that one doesn't trip any more. A day are two later the same thing happens with washing machine on separate circuit in completely separate breaker box. Any suggestions on troubke shooting would be greatly appreciated.

Next time it trips look at the breaker for a flashing led. It will indicate the purpose of the trip such as; overload, self test, parallel arc, series arc, short circuit and possibly ground fault. Not all arc faults have this but it was available a year and a half ago
