Hello,

I am building a bar immunity basement which will feature a 300 gallon aquarium. I plan on building the aquarium stand out of LVL lumber. My question is: will Lvl lumber be ok if it's right against concrete or should I build a green treat base such as 2x6 or plywood?

Thanks!

I would use a natural type wood. I would be afraid that lvl or plywood would react to something in the tank. Maybe I just do not like those type of engineered types of wood.

Unless the LVL chemicals magically find a way to travel through thick glass, I'm not too concerned with that aspect.

If it's going to be in direct contact with the slab then use pressure treated or a foam sill under it.
