I’m installing an Aprilaire 700 automatic humidifier on to a Goodman furnace. From all the posts I’ve read, I’m supposed to tie the transformer into the EAC or HUM terminal. However the EAC and HUM terminals are blank on my circuit board, no way to connect to them.

Looking for advice on the correct way to wire the transformer to the furnace. If possible I’d like to be able to have the humidifier run without the heat running. (As if it were connected to the EAC terminal).

You need heat to vaporize the water so I would not use it any other way.

Post the model # of the Goodman furnace.

Some of them have a connection terminal on the pressure switch which you can use to power the humidifier ( 24 volts ) and then you hook the other side to the C terminal on the board.

Or use the W terminal. Either way they get energized when the burner is on. You don't need the 24 volt transformer.

Post a pic of the furnace with both doors off.

You need 5 posts to attach pics BUT you could use Google photos or photobucket and put the links here.

Trust me, you likely don't need to run the humidifier any more than it will by letting the heat mode control it.

I actually went to the trouble of adding some components to make running the system any time the humidistat called for it. It worked fine but no better than when letting the heat demand control it.

I unhooked it and left it until I get time to remove the components. The parts were cheap so no big loss and it's easy to do. If you are handy with electric wiring by following a schematic I'll share the one I created for the job... say the word and I'll post it.

I don't mean to dismiss out of hand your need to run the humidifier more than normally necessary... just want to share my own findings.
