call an appliance tech. It could be a number of things, the optics may have gone out, the valve may be bad, the fill tube may be frozen or most likely the entire icemaker needs replaced (very common with these).

I have a side by side whirlpool refrigerator, model number ED2FHGXKQ00. The icemaker has stopped working but the water dispenser works fine. The icemaker is in the door. Any ideas?

when you press for ice does the motor run to dispense the ice ?
if the motor runs to dispense the ice when the button is pressed then inspect the ice maker first make sure that it is in the on position then make sure a piece of ice isn't restricting the fingers that push out the ice
I'm sure he/she got it fixed by now, thread is over 5 years old. However, if other people are researching you provided good advice for anyone else with similar issue.
