I am looking online for security cameras but all I can find so far is big packages with wifi, and push notifications and blah blah. All I want is 3 wired Night vision and wheather proof cameras, and for it to record to a hard drive. I don't need to veiw it online I can watch it when i get home on my pc. I have external hard drives.

One thing i read online might be good is to have it record only when motion is detected, but that drives up theprice. Wouldn't a 1tb hd last quite awhile?

Also needs to withstand canadian -40 winters.

I in derailed a Swann POE system with 1st and 4 cameras. Holds a month or more of continuous. Good tech support.

Not sure if they will do -40 degrees though.

IP cameras and Blue Iris software is my new favorite, after trying a few different kinds of systems. Blue Iris will work with most IP cameras. I'm using a mix of Huawei, Foscam, and a few other brands. Most are PoE cameras, which makes wiring much simpler. I run a separate physical LAN for the cameras alone, with no internet connection.
