hi, planning to build a retaining wall - less than 3'.

i love the look of wallstone - dry stack flat stones. tyring to figure out cost of either buying the wallstone or allen block. allen blocks it appears cost $6/piece.



anyone has experience/suggestion?

Good luck, you did not bother to post your location when registering.
Not likely anyone will even know what Allen stone even is.
Get some local prices and you'll know what it cost.

Allen blocks are more expensive than cinderblocks but a great deal stronger. Dry stack is fine for a garden wall but not a good choice for a retaining wall. The last time I priced Allan block it sold for $10 to $22 per linear foot and you need to add the cost for the cap pieces.

With either choice a well designed and rebar reinforced concrete footing is important.
