Please be gentle... I'm a noob.

I've been trying to find out if I can move my electical panel to the inside of an exterior wall. It's currently on an interior wall, and I figured I'd ask before I really did something stupid.

thanks

How far from the meter will it be? Do you know if there is a disconnect between the meter and the panel as it is currently configured?

I believe there's a disconnect at the meter where the drop is. (what happens if there isn't?)

My property has two units with separate meters. Both meters are located behind the guest house.

I'm guessing the distance from current location to the meter is 60' give or take

If I moved it to the inside of the back exterior wall that would make it about 50' from the meter.

It makes a difference if they are service conductors (unfused) or feeders but since we now know the meter is on another structure and there is a disconnect, they are most likely feeders.
The panel can be on the inside of an exterior wall.

BTW, why do you want to move them? It will be a lot of work moving all the circuits.
I bought the house a couple of years ago and it just had screw in fuses (home built in 1905). At the time, I had a panel installed and a new drop and just said... eh... put it wherever.

It took me a couple of years to put together a floor plan and now I have 1/4th the house down to the joists and studs. Time for the rest of the knob and tube to go... but my wife's new kitchen layout calls for the panel to be moved to a different location so she can have her granite peninsula.
