Any problem with true 2x6 milled red cedar for decking?

736 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  onjtrainee
I found a good resource for western red cedar 2x6..and it's beautiful stuff. Just wondered if there was something I was missing. it is heavier, but not sure that should deter me from using it as my deckboards. Any info out there on that?

...sometimes called red aromatic cedar.

It is great decking material,

Grade? Just make sure it is tight knot.

I've put down thousands of feet if it.

It will weather to a frey color.

Don't fight it.
Yeah..it's a pity to lose that great color, but I like the gray too...anyway to protect the underside and maybe keep that pretty a while longer? It's over a sitting area and would really be pretty as a marroon and yellow ceiling.
