Hey All -

I was assuming this wood type material was masonite but the lowes lumber guy doesn't believe so.

The home was built in 1999 in Texas, any idea what the material of choice was back then?

Here's a pic if it helps:

I do believe the fascia board and soffit is masonite but unsure on that also.

Thanks =)

It's HardiPlank fiber cement.

I haven't touched the stuff in over three years but that grain pattern is still burned deep into my brain. :1eye:
So that settles that.. but what about this? Perhaps the front trim material is different? From what I can tell, squirrel(s) damaged this material and its almost like cardboard:

It's some sort of engineered wood trim and once water gets past it's micro thin protective skin then it might as well be cardboard.

Good luck if you're trying to match it. There's been so many flavors of that type of product come and go over the years it's hard to keep up.

You're best bet would be to go to local lumber yard (not a box store) that's been around forever and ask at the contractors desk.
