Hi everyone
Is there any easier way to figure out if this is a diode or magnetron or something else?

Power and lights are fine
It even powers on and the fan comes on and the carousel spins when you try to heat food but nothing gets warmer.

microwave a very dangerous appliance to work on - the voltages they use are very lethal.

if you insist, see if the hv circuit is being energized - there's probably a separate output from the circuit board which goes to the transformer that feeds the magneton.

A diode i believe you can test - capacitor can be tested too (after being discharged!)
