Hi fellas, I live in Florida and I was wondering if anyone knows what the specifications should be for a roof to cover a 12x28 room addition. I have been all over the internet looking for this and have found nothing. Not even the building and zoning website has this info. I would like to build this roof so I can pass the building inspection without needing to re-inspect and I figure if I know the exact requirements then I can get this right the first time.

Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks

Tink.

Hey Tink

I would have to ask you 10 questions to give an answer that's even close. For instance cathedral ceiling? trusses? conventional constuction? insulation requirements to meet codes? gable roof? hip roof? radiant reflective barrier?.....and so on. The answer is always buried in the question. The more details the better the answer. bill

Hey Bill, thanks for helping. I have no idea to any of this. I have a mobile home and I want to just extend the length by 12 feet. I will just tie into the existing roof and I am trying to find out exactly how the roof needs to be constructed to be passable. Like do I need trusses? If so, how far apart must they be spaced, and how many do I need. I bought R34 insulation for it and the existing roof is cathedral. Thanks again.
