Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but its usually an electrician that i would call to install a new lighting fixture/ceiling fan.

When shopping for fans, I notice that some boxes give mounting options. some say straight mount or angle mount. and some others only list straight mount.

are these just listing what mounting options come in the box? or can some fans just not be mounted on an angle?

I'm looking at a fan that only lists straight mount on the box, but i'm wondering if i buy a angle mount kit separately.. is there any reason that it wouldnt work?

just for reference, here is the fan i'm looking at:

thanks!

That link does not take me to a ceiling fan. With some brands of fans you can buy the separate angle kit from the store or the manufacturer. If you are unsure, I would contact the manufacturer before you make a purchase.

To move 4100 cfm with those little fans, they will run at a much higher speed than a traditional ceiling fan. It will be similar to taking a couple of table top fans and hanging them above your head.

If you like quiet fans, probably not the best choice.
