Windows were none operational due to paint prior to me repainting sills/trim.
I cut all the paint loose, I have one window that will not open past 3/4, it's really jammed. I assume it's old paint, looking for tips how to work that paint loose and get the window sliding freely.

Unsure of the series but it's an Andersen single hung circa 1962.

I loath the fact someone painted the aluminum tracks/slides:

I think I have the same kind of windows. Same looking, andersen style and same kind of storms outside. It looks like the channels are white plastic. I was going to say try paint remover but probably it will damage the plastic. If not melting, could warp. You can try scraping gently and see how much paint you can remove. Plastic may be brittle. I thought my house was renovated in the 70s but good to know maybe 60s. But I have foil faced r11 insulation. If scraping, paint certain to be leaded, so follow the scraping with a vacuum cleaner. Only that much paint, inhaling some lead is not a problem.

My channels are aluminum, some dingus painted them....
I bought some bees wax lubricant and will see how far that gets me.

Andersen has a wealth of information and parts on their main and parts site. We have a contractor here in Decatur, AL they call the "window whisperer" who identified mine by sight. Sure enough, as soon as I pulled one of the awning windows to refinish, the swing arm was etched with "Andersen"
