I have a solution for people buying homes with aluminum wiring. You could pig tail, or use Copulum or some other connectors but in the end you should just set out planning a complete re-wire of the home you are buying. Insurance companies WILL NOT INSURE HOUSES WITH ALUMINUM WIRING. Thanks to government back in the 60 and 70s now we have to pay today. THANKS GOV.

I know plenty properties that are wired this way and they are insured. I have not personally tried to insure a home wired this way, but my BIL and sister own several condo's and they are wired with AL. They are rental properties and are covered under HO insurance.
How did the insurance company know you had AL wire? I am of the opinion that the insurance company cannot do this as AL wire was legal then it is legal now if existing. There is no law or rule that says anyone must upgrade their AL wired homes.

I know that in the neighborhood I live in all of the houses are AL, and they get bought and sold all the time.

I have been able to replace a lot of mine during renos, but there is still a lot left.

It's funny how inspectors always say, nah, there's nothing wrong with al, but insurance companies have a different attitude.

Do you even know what you are talking about.

Way to go online and spread your ignorance.

I'm sorry your are having issues with buying a house with AL wires. As other have said (which you seem to ignore) there are plenty of house sales with AL wiring.
