My house has vinyl siding with aluminum trim up by the roof line. Every spring I have had pieces of aluminum trim that wrap around a corner just fall off the house... and usually with a nail still piercing the metal. How should I fix this so my house dosen't shed any more siding in the spring?
-Thanks,

hi and welcome to the forum.
it sounds to me like you may be getting wet under the fascia (aluminum trim) and the smooth nails they used to mount it are sliding out.
if not wet, then even wind can pull a 1" smooth nail.
(i had the lumberyard send me white fascia nails once and that's what they sent)
is there a drip edge that the fascia piece slides under at the roof edge?
i'd probably just use a longer ringshank or twist nail and then paint the heads white to hide them.

Check to see the wood that supposed to hold the nail is solid. If it's soft or rotted, replace it and follow DM"s advice about the correct nails to use.
I would also go around and renail all the fascia now with the new nails to eliminate doing it again next Spring.
