Hello,

While replacing our door sweep, I noticed the seal that goes around glass has about a 1/2" gap. I'm assuming this is not normal. Is it possible to replace this seal? Or, would it be easier/simpler to just put clear calk inside the shower?

A quick Google search has not yielded the same seal, and I attempted to remove the door from the shower with no luck. However, I was trying to do so without removing the entire surrounding frame and sealant.

A glaziers shop is your best bet for obtaining a new rubber seal, but are you comfortable taking the glass from the frame and installing it?

The clear RTV sold at car parts stores, will suffice as a new sealer, it must be a clean, dry, area, first.

Thanks for your response Ed. If I could get the door removed without totally removing the whole frame from the shower walls, yes. I removed the screws around the door frame, but it appears the way the way it is assembled, the entire surrounding frame must also come out. Sounds like just adding a bit of calk on the inside would best here...

Most of those things LIFT UP, and tilt out to be removed,

There might be a stop up close to the top, that needs removed first.

But the silicon RTV will be faster, easier, and will stay until something knocks it off.
