Hello,
I'm looking to improve the existing extension to our home. The previous extension was a shed roof (collapsing) attached to the original Hip Roof home. The original home has 10' ceilings and their extension slanted down to just over 7'.
I'm raising all walls to 10' and cutting off much of the extension only to rebuild with a concrete footing instead of wood on grade from 90 years ago.
So the question. I'd like to raise the extension walls to the same as the existing home. Can someone tell me if they see any complications to my plan in the images (attached) the extension in question is the one with the newly drawn hip roof coming out of the main house. (not the shed roof over a kitchen addition on the opposite side.) The valleys, specifically on the left side when facing the extension is where I see could be troublesome especially where the end of the valley converges with the bottom of the ridgeline. I'd like to add a hip roof to the extension for asthetic reasons. In keeping with the original design.
ALSO. Any suggestions on how to accommodate for the cutout of the wall facing the extra large tree. I've seen hips to corners before but am a little baffled on how to nail that one.
Thanks all.
