If you look closely in the picture below, you can tell that a portion of our garage has exposed painted block. Looking to cover that (and to add some architectural interest, too) with black painted lattice and then choose a vine to grow.

As you can see, I have one piece of partially-painted lattice leaning against the building now. I've got one more piece (both of which I bought at the ReStore) that will go next to that one. I am going to have a bit of a gap on either side and am looking for ideas to to frame out the lattice. Any creative ideas are welcome! Using this pool house below for inspiration. Please give me your input!

Look round on Craigslist for some fiberglass columns.

Find a couple, split them in half, use for decorative purposes along side the entry door and the panels, along with some decorative trim across the top.

I would paint the wall a dark color, and then hold the lattice off the wall a couple inches so it appears open as in your reference "pool house" picture.

Could turn out looking really good...:)

As someone who has/had some of that wood lattice in the back yard.....don't expect them to last long.

If you really want something to grow there....attach some metal bars to the block and plant some honey suckle or Jasmine.
