Hello all you DIYers!

I'm looking to add florescent light fixtures to an already existing light fixture. I plan to use a outlet adaptor to allow two ballast light fixtures to plug into. Is there any thing I should worry about in terms of overloading the circuit?

Which type of fluorescent bulbs? When switching from incandescent to fluorescent, you'll generally run out of room on the ceiling before you start drawing more power than you were with the incandescent.

For example: with T8, 2 4-foot tubes would equal roughly the same wattage as one 60W incandescent bulb. 4 4-footers would equal roughly 2 60W bulbs. T5 will be slightly less wattage than that (28W vs 32W per 4-foot tube). I doubt you'll be doing more than 4 tubes from that one socket adapter unless you are planning on lighting a paint booth or a retail storefront in your garage, so you should be just fine.
