good morning today im looking into adding a bathroom in my basment. i have a aboveground waste line that runs into septic tank. where i want to install bathroom there is no cut out for a pvc Y pipe to be added so i wanted to cut into line and add one where the toilet bowl would be. my question is how would i stop waste from comming back into basment when cutting into pvc pipe. any ideas of what i can do to block waste water from spilling all over the bsmt? i have a 4 inch waste line.
thank you

Unless you have a septic tank problem there is no standing water in the line out to the tank. Unless someone flushes a toilet while you are working on the pipe.
