Your local jurisdiction may have the answer to whether or not you can extend or "modify" a knob and tube circuit.

Is the knob and tube insulation brittle? Does it crack?

*Oh, pull switch. Never mind, its simple.

If you can find a place on the light to put the pull chain its simple. Splice the neutrals together and the power splices to one black on the pull chain and the black from the light splices with the other black on the pull chain.

I want to hang a chandelier to existing knob and tube wiring but there isn't a switch to the electrical source. is there a way to add a pull switch to knob and tube wired to a new chandelier?
Does the new light fixture have 90 degree wiring? Better check, UL listing on the light fixture may say only connect to 90 degree rated wiring....just putting it out there...never done it myself...:whistling2:

Chandelier will probably not require 90ºC wiring. The bulbs are not tight to the ceiling where they will create a lot of heat. Be sure to check the install instructions to be sure.
