I have a 14'X14' sunroom addition that I want to add AC to. The sunroom has windows on 2 1/2 sides, a cathedral ceiling and 2 skylights. The adjoining room is a 14X16 den also skylights and cathedral, only two windows. The rooms will have a 10' opening connecting them. Currently the Den is cooled by an 8" flexible duct on apx 20' run from the plenum on the AC unit. Can I tap into this run? Maybe upgrade to a 10" duct from the plenum, to a box or wye, to two 8" ducts for the two rooms? The run to new room would be about 7' further (half the room) than the den.

It doesn't look like there's room on the plenum to run a homerun to the new room. My only other option would be to tap into a box that is already supplying 3 rooms (doesn't seem like a good idea).

Thanks all for the replies. I was hoping to go the cheap way out, plus I'm not real happy with the look of those units on the wall but I have very little knowledge of them I guess it's time to learn.
It's starting to make more sense to go the mini split route. As it is now, the adjoining den heats up faster than the rest of the house (due to the cathedral ?). So maybe a mini split to serve both rooms.
Now is the time to do it since I haven't sheet rocked yet and I can still run electric
Any suggestions on BTU's: 2 rooms 14X14 plus 14X16. It's winter and the sunroom is already warm on sunny days.

I am in a two story with one heat pump and no zones. In my spare time I plan to ponder and explore a couple mini splits in the bedrooms. Of four, one is not used, one is directly above the air handler plenum housed in the basement--and thus closely approximates main level temperatures--and the remaining two bedrooms in use are 5-7 degrees different than the main level. But I am a layman and will ultimately need to reach out to some pros on here. Comfort vs cosmetics, I care little about the intrusion of a wall blob.

Is there a return air in the existing den? If not that may help that rooms issues.

I'd also recommend a ductless split, heat pump. Get one with 2 indoor units ("heads"). If you have a bulkhead between the rooms, that's where I'd place them, back to back. It would make running the lineset easy, and serve both rooms with comfort. It would also let one run when the other is satisfied. (sunroom will need it much more then the den) The cool air will, however, run back into the den naturally and my make your feet cool. (you can help avoid this by keeping the unit fans on constantly, and maybe adding ceiling fans if that's not enough.

Cheers!

My wife was not too excited when I wanted to put one directly over our master bedroom door. Now, she loves it - you get used to it and don't even notice them. Now my wife closes the door, and cranks it down to a cool 67º. Plus the inverter keeps the temperature set point dead on without any "swing" and great dehumidification.
