AC for narrow double hung window

I have 4 double hung windows in the downstairs of my duplex that are 17” wide and open up 22”. Can I use a air conditioner made for casement windows in my narrow double hung windows? Do I need to make any modifications? The area is about 560 square feet.

Dunno. You didnt say how big the AC is. Worst case scenario, use a portable AC... (they sit on the floor). Cut a piece of plywood to fit inside the window opening, and run the ductwork for the portable AC through holes in the plywood.
