Can anyone help on giving me some pointers, thank you in advance.

The ac in my home doesn't turn on. I've tried to isolate the issue, there's power coming to the main unit outside from the main panel and the unit seems fine, the problem is that it doesn't turn on from the theostat. Nothing happens! Have any ideas as to what the problem is? Or what I can check for next ?

Oh ok I'll check for that! Also I should add that the heater gave out since last winter so heater wasn't working but ac was, specialist came to check it about six months ago and said unit was old. So he thought that was the problem, but ac was still working until now. But I want to see if it's something else that can be fixed.
