My air handler is in the NW corner of my garage and the drip line, goes under the concrete floor, under the outside wall, on the NE side, and comes up. There are problems with it not draining which my new contractor said he can fix tomorrow. But, he is concerned there isn't (is this the right word) conduit running under the garage floor.

I just wondered if I should suggest they run the drain line from the NW corner, along the inside west wall then outside, to the SW corner without going under the floor, since that idea doesn't work.

The only problem I see is that my electric panel is on the wall, that the line would pass under. Also the drain line will be on the outside or garage side of the drywall. Would there be a code conflict with having a pvc condensation line running across the front of the elec panel. It would be a couple of feet below the elec panel box.

EDIT: Yay. Yes, the drain line can be run along the wall to the front of the garage instead of going under the floor. It doesn't matter that it will pass along below the elec panel.

The only thing the AC Co. is concerned about (which I don't understand) is if the refrigerant lines are in a conduit. They said if not they'll have to use the existing and just flush them.

Easier to run a new line set if the lines are in a PVC conduit. If they aren't, then the concrete has knitted to them/the insulation around them, and new lines can't be pulled through the insulation.

I'm assuming these "refridgerant lines" go from the air handler to the condenser outside.

Since the air handler and condenser are on opposite sides of the garage and the current lines are under concrete...........how would the run new lines?

They probably intend to run the lines over head.
