Hey guys -

Recently was wrapping up some rewiring on some switches in my dining room and noticed that some of the old AC cable in the walls was missing the bonding strip. Looks like it had broken off (either previously or during the remodel).

What is the solution for this? Or can I get by with using the metal shield as a ground as they are shorter runs?

The bond strip can be cut off flush with the sheath. As long as the cable contains a bond strip it can be used as a grounding means.
