I just went out in my backyard and seen this.
It just so happens 3 days ago at 2:30am, I had seen a skunk about 20 feet to the right of this next to the back door. I went out a few hours later after the sun came up, and I'm certain I would have noticed this. I'm not sure if a skunk could even do this, or if this probably has to do with less people out cause of covid 19, and the animals are venturing out farther.
I do have a Rigid boroscope, and was able to look under and see the entire void. The other side of that slab has a little light coming through (at the corner of the house), but there is no 'exit'. There is nothing currently under there (critter wise). I had seen something like this before, but it was a very small amount of material. So small, I thought it might have fallen down/out of the hole after a heavy storm. Now I know better. I know there was a small void under there before, but I haven't been here incredibly long, and never bothered to look before this first incident.
My plan was to just get 4 bags of concrete, and mix it thin to help fill it under. Don't really have a way to get way in and under there to fill the void, was just going to use a pick up a little hand shovel, and try to push as much in as I can.
Is there a better way, or thoughts on best what to do here, or what this might be in the back yard? Thank you.
