I've got my deck almost done being framed, the long frame bits (technical term) are 15" on center.

A. Should I add those small perpendicular supports, and if so, how many and where?

2. Do I need to screw every one, or every other one?

Yes, I am a beginner, the last porch I built was about 7-8 years ago (still standing strong). I'm pretty sure it won't fall down, and it's going to be ripped out in a couple years anyway when we replace this mobile. I just don't want it to look like dog poop in the interim, or fall down on my kids.

Thanks!

How long are the joists? Up to 8' I would add 1 per bay. Over 8', two. I'd put them in every joist bay.

If your joists are 15" on center, you'll want to carefully measure anything under the length of a full board. About 6 years ago everyone changed to 16" on center now. Be safe, GBAR in WA, Pierce County
