If your talking about a heat pump in heat mode.

Both go up as it gets warmer. Just the BTUs increase more.

Both the amps go up and the BTUs/hr go up, but the BTUs/hr increase faster?
So 15A at 18,000 BTU with COP of three, the COP goes to 4 and the amps then go to slightly more than 15A?
So for the same cooling/heating, the 'stat duty cycle would decrease?

The on time would decrease.

A. Its providing more heat.
B. The house/structure is loosing less heat.

PS: your example of 15 amps. At 240 volt, providing 18,000BTUs, would only be a COP of 1.46

You seemed to be off the forum for a while, and I had the feeling that all Heil was going to break loose.
LOL... No, just not many good questions were being posted for a while.

And I was a little busy, not much though. Dang weather.
