I have been having trouble with my a/c unit. I turned it on last night and everything proceeded to turn on and I had cold air coming out the vents. After about 10 minutes air quit coming form the vents, so I went to check out the unit and the blower was not working. I checked the blower and everything spins freely and is pretty clean. After visually checking everything out I cycled the door switch on the unit and the blower came back on but shut off after about 10 minutes again. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be or how to help me troubleshoot it?

Does the compressor come on? When the blower goes off, is there still 24VAC at that thermostat? This season the relay in my compressor shorted, which caused the transformer in the air handler to trip, which shut everything down. My transformer didn't have thermal protection, so it burnt itself out, but yours might be tripping and resetting when you cycle the power. Or it's something totally different.

is there any dust ,etc, build up on the motor where it bolts to the blower ?? I have seen dust etc, build up in this area & cause over heating of the motor.. Check the high speed connection at the circuit board
