A box containing 2 flip switches

i have a box that contains 2 flip switches on the wall ... One is for a seperate hall light and the other was for a kitchen light..

the kitchen switch broke... the plastic tab on/off cracked...

Installed was a lutrom dimmer switch instead.. It connects to recessed lighting in the kitchen..

QUESTION IS>>... I dont see power going to the switch..
(theres a little led light that displays the power on the lutrom maestro) the led is off..

Does this have anything to do with that its paired in with another switch even though its for a seperate light ...

Could a brand new switch be dead..?

To be sure ill at least check the contacts again....
