They are sort of stores. Real lumberyard is anything besides the big box HD, Lowes, etc.

Salvage yard you can find in Google,. Just google lumber salvage yards and you'll get a few.

Local sawmill the same. I am in MA, a buddy a half mile away has a sawmill that can handle the job, there are two others within about 20 miles.

Where can I buy a wood block which is like 6 inch X 12 inch in cut section and 8 feet or 10 feet or 12 feet long ... like a rectangle cut wood log ... lowes does not have it ... home depot has 4 inch X 6 Inch X 12 feet i need something similar

Ayuh,.... Over the last couple of years, I've seen a fencin' company usin' timbers like yer lookin' for as guide rails in parkin' lots,....

I've been grabbin' the cut-off ends as blockin',....
The crew gladly gives 'em to me, rather than haulin' 'em an hour to the shop to toss 'em into their dumpster,...
I think the vertical posts are 8x8s, 'n the rail timbers are 6x12s,....
might be 4x12s,...
