Hi, I'm new here so bear with me...

Me and my wife have purchased some land in Maine and are working out the details. We have several driveway quotes now and are looking at options to run power to our site. The building site is on top a hill which gradually slopes toward the road. The power runs along this road. It is 600 feet between the nearest pole at the road and where we would like to build. My question is would we be able to run power from a transformer located on the pole at the road, or will we have to have the transformer closer to the house? I would like to have 200 amp service.

Thanks in advance for replies.

you will need to coordinate what needs to be done with the local power company. But in your case plan on installing new poles or going underground to a new transformer.

Thanks, I would like to run the power underground but our land is all ledge so It sounds like we will be running power overhead with a transformer on last pole. Thanks so much for the reply! This is a great forum.
