Hi there-

I am installing new cabinets in my kitchen. I want to use an ikea sink cab that has the drawer for compost/trash, but my drain in the wall is a little too low and the back of the drawer will hit the trap. I am using an apron sink and the drain in very far towards the front of the cabinet so I have plenty of space to insert other pieces. I found this diagram of what I basically want to do, but its a bit old. I only need to raise the drain about 3 inches. Would it be code to use a couple 45's or 90's to raise my drain a few inches at the wall? I found a bunch of stuff about an strap, but not sure if that applies with the drain in the wall not in the floor. Thanks for any guidance you may have!

This is a photo using similar drawer (the actual one isn't assembled yet, its the same just wider). Seeing as the trap will be even lower than the drain, it won't work as is. Im hoping to not cut the back of the drawer apart. My drain is 2 inch past the t, but its a female 1 1/2" coming off the sanitary tee that I will hook to. The bottom of the drain is 7" from the bottom of the cabinet, and I need about 10" to clear.

Fixed the picture for ya.

The trap needs to be at the elevation of the tee- not above the drawer. This would be an S trap.
You can build an offset around the drawer- then drop into the trap at the tee. Or raise the tee inside the wall.

Thanks! So i understand correctly, is this the offest idea if you ignore the second sink basin on the right...? Are there restrictions to what i can use as far as the 90's in the line(assuming im replacing that t with a 90). And i shouldnt have issues with gas smell?

That you can do. The original picture you raised the trap above the vent that you can't do. But a bit of modification you could replace the top 90 that picked up the trap with a sanitary tee and install a AAV off the top of that tee. AAV Air Admittance Valve.

So just to make sure I have this right-

If I do an offset drain I still need an AAV? I did read from the original poster of the last photo I posted that his sink drained slow. People seemed to think this was because of the long horizontal between the drain and the trap. If I did an offset drain (this makes much more sense over the drawer) do I still need an AAV to have it drain properly? If so would I put a sanitary tee at the end of the long horizontal, going down to ptrap and up to AAV?
