I have a new generator that has a 50 amp 4-wire outlet (14-50)...
Currently, my old generator, connects via a 3-wire #4 cord to my breaker panel....I would like to use the 3-wire cord, already wired to the panel....How can I do this?

You need to rewire it. in order to be correct. I will not say it is ok, to just use the 3 wire configuration.

It's not legal to use the three wire cord anymore.
