Just replaced old light fixture in bath that didn't have an exhaust fan.

The ceiling box has 4 white 4 black 4 grounds 1 red (wires).

Bedroom switch is a 3way w/ 1white 1 black 1 red.

Bath switch has two rockers.....1 is the 3way for overhead light/fan and the other switch is single pole for vanity light.
This box has 4 romex cables:
1 for feed (blk, white, ground)
1 for vanity (blk, white, ground)
1 for overhead light (blk, white, ground, red)
And assuming 4th wire is to bedrm switch (blk, white, ground, red)

I wired new fan/light as follows: 4blks to 4blks 4whites to 4whites 4grounds to grounds, the blue from new light fixture to only red in ceiling box.

Both the light and fan work. Switches work only for light. The FAN does not go off. How do I wire so that fan and light go on/off simultaneously?

Blue and black to the red. Did you put 4 cables into the fan?

Both the fan motor wire and fan light wire need to be connected to the switched power of the switch.

Forgetting all the other cables in your boxes, below are two simple diagrams showing one switch operating both a fan motor and fan lite at the same time.

The fan/vent came wired already with a blk & white.
The light portion has a blue & white wire.

This is not a fan with blades......it is a bathroom exhaust fan which will be on a 3way switch.

For the fan I just did black to black & white to white.

For the light I white to white & the blue to the onle red wire in ceiling box.

I know you are referring to a bath exhaust fan. The diagram I had saved already had the ceiling fan and lite picture in it so I just decided to use that diagram.

The point is one unit with two electrical devices in it(fan motor and light)

Just to clarify you want:
-a 3-way switch in the bath that controls the bath exhaust fan motor
-a 3-way switch in the bath that controls the bath exhaust fan light
-a 3-way switch in the bedroom that controls the bath exhaust fan motor
-a 3-way switch in the bedroom that controls the bath exhaust fan light

Thank you. Yes ultimately that's what I would like.
Right now I think I'll just settle for the fan to be powered OFF by a single pole switch. (The light is already wired to be 3way & work properly and can be switched on/off). Its the fan I am having a problem with.

I think I need to just piggyback/switch leg a black and ground to a single pole switch for fan??

I'm going to go buy a double switch that is both a 3wayfor light and single on lower part for fan.
The diagrams are great however my existing wires are 14-3 for lights .

Bdrm 3way switch..........a black, red, white ground (14-3)

Bathrm 3way switch......a red, red, white, ground 2(14-3)'s.
The other white one is capped with whites(vanity,feed,bdrm 14-3 cables)

The two "blacks" are capped together with feed and vanity blacks. (None are connected to 3way switch in bath gang box).

Guess I'll take first suggestion and wire blue black and red together for one switch. Really wanted it to be switched separately....so we can cons ever energy
