I want to hook into a 3 way wall switch for a transformer from 120v ac to 12v ac to power my ring video door bell. 3 way switch has 4 wires black, white, red and green ( ground never attached to the switch). The transformer has 3 120v wires black, white and green ... question.. how do I hook up the transformer to the 3 way switch without The transformer being switched and that the 3 way switch still works as a 3 way switch for the lights?

Generally, hooking into 3-way switches is impossible. The wires you need (always-hot and neutral) are unlikely to be present.

Occasionally (maybe 1 in 3 chance) all the right wires are there after all. We might be able to spot that with photos of the wiring in each of the 3-ways, along with some voltage testing on your part.

But absent that lucky draw (and ability to detect same), count on "Nope. Find another location to get power."
