I have a 3way switch atthe end of the circuit. I tried to come off that switch to a 1 pole switch to controll a new ceiling fan that is only going to have one switch. I ran 12/2 wire from that new swith. The 3way still works the same and the new switch turns the power on and off to the the new ceiling fan/light, but nothing happens at the light (nospin and no light). My tester shows the power does get tothe light socket and fan motor. What could be wrong?

no neutral. the white wire you tapped into at the 3way switch is actually a hot traveler or switch leg (this is legal tho it is supposed to be marked). You can not usually power something else from a switch. try pulling power from a plug.
