I just replaced the CFL's that were in my kitchen's can lights with dimmable LEDs. These lights are on a standard 3-way circuit with 2 wall switches. I want to replace one of the switches with an LED compatible dimmer.

My question is, if the dimmer is set very low, but switched off, and I turn on the lights from the other (standard) toggle switch, will the lights come on full brightness, or are they subject to the low dimmer setting?

What is your concern ?

Unlike incandescents that will dim to nothing, an LED has a lower level of reliable operation. Below that level, the LED will start flashing or quit operation. The LED dimmer has an adjustment screw that allows you to set the minimum dimming level above the critical level for reliable operation.

You will have enough light to safely walk over to the dimmer to adjust it.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a concern, was just curious if there was a way that the regular switch always was Off/Full Brightness and the dimmer switch could be used to set the dim if needed. I know there are some special dimmers that can communicated with each other to to mirror the settings on each to allow multiple dimmers on one light, so i might go that route.
