two blowers has the same 3 wires - I am assuming that they are 3 speeds each one. however one only two wires connected to the capacitor while the other one has three wires connected to the capacitor.

the capacitor looks the same -
it is a small capacitor. What's the difference?

It can be done as a 3-wire.

Power from 1 power goes to the capacitor terminal instead of direct to blk.

blk gets connected to the same capacitor terminal as line one power is.

The brn wire without stripe goes to the other capacitor terminal.

Brwn with white stripe you tape off.

beethere,

so the forth wire connects directly to the capacitor? can you make it only 3 wires and get rid of the one that connects directly to the capacitor?

On a 4 wire. The brown wire connects to one side of the cap, and the brown with white strip connects to the other side of the cap.

Since the brown with white strip wire is connected to the same spot as the common wire. Any 4 wire motor can be wired up as a 3 wire.
